"...You can expect the Scions to look just as vicious as their vehicles."

We've seen two different looking Scion textures, what's going on with that?

Well, the Scions got a bit of a make over. The new Scion vehicles are black and blue and have yellow patterns all over them. The patterns will work like lights so that during night missions all you can see are these disntinct yellow shapes heading towards you. In multiplayer you will also be able to change the color of these patterns to distinguish one team from another. Personally, I prefer this new look to the old one. The Scions now look vicious, especially the tanks and that special galloping unit (oooops... I've said too much).

How about the Scion soldiers? How are they going to look different than the ISDF?

As a matter of fact they're what I'm working on at this time. You can expect the Scions to look just as vicious as their vehicles. The Scion soldier will also have some cool appendages that will distinguish them from the ISDF from a distance. As far as animations are concerned, they will have similar animations to their ISDF counterparts but we're giving them the 'Scion' touch.

And how are those cool looking weapons coming along?

Well, the ISDF weapons are pretty much done. Now it's just a question of getting them in the engine and making sure they work. "Somebody get me Ken Miller!" And while the Scion weapons will look and work differently than the ISDF weapons, you can expect some really cool animation from both.

At this stage of the project, what kinds of art tasks are there left to do?

Well, the majority of our time is spent finishing up art and polishing what we've already done. This includes fixing models, textures, and animations. We are also finishing up the rest of the environments. John Rheaume has been brought on board to paint some of the worlds and he's doing an amazing job. At the same time we are adding some final details such as caves, more creatures, ruins, and a few surprises.

A recent online preview stated that BZII was "primed to become one of the greatest games of all time." That's some pretty serious expectation. How are you handling all the press hype surrounding Battlezone II?

Well, I'm not letting it get to my head... but I have put a down payment on a Porsche.
